Settings in Yosemite (10.10) Apple Mail

To fix auto-configure problems with MacOS X 10.10 Yosemite:

 

1) In Apple Mail, go to menu Mail -> "Preferences..." and select the "Accounts" icon and the prxy account in the list on the left.

2) Select the "Advanced" tab and uncheck "Automatically detect and maintain account settings."

3) Select the "Account Information" tab and click the pop-up menu next to the Outgoing (SMTP) server selection and select the "Edit" option at
the bottom.

4) On that same page, check "Use SSL" and make sure the incoming port is 993

5) Select the "Advanced" tab and uncheck "Automatically detect and maintain account settings."

6) On that same page, check "Use SSL" and make sure the port is set to 465

7) Click OK to close that window, then close the Preferences window and save changes if prompted.

 

 

To verify the outgoing server in Apple Mail:

 

* Open menu Mail -> Preferences...

* Click the "Accounts" icon

* Click the account in the list on the left

* Under the "Account Information" tab, click the pop-up menu next to "Outgoing mail server  (SMTP)" and select "Edit SMTP server list..." at the bottom.

* Verify settings under "Account Information" tab:

  - Server name: secure.prxy.com

  - TLS certificate: [None]

* Verify settings under "Advanced" tab:

  - Use custom port: 465

  - Check "Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)"

  - Authentication: [Password]

  - User Name: your full email address

  - Password: your email password

* Click "OK"

* Close preferences window
