Outlook Connector (ZCO)

Install the Outlook Connector (ZCO or Zimbra Connector for Outlook)

Please note that these instructions are for the Outlook Desktop App.  "New Outlook" is not compatible with the ZCO.

Look at Outlook with your current account. If you have a tab called Zimbra, then you already have our Zimbra Connector for Outlook plugin. If you do not have this tab, then you will need to download the connector from our site, https://www.prxy.com/outlook.

Select the version of the installer that is compatible with your version of Outlook, this will be either 32 bit or 64 bit. If you are not sure which version of Outlook you have installed, you can check by opening up the File tab, then clicking on the "Office Account" option in the left hand sidebar. Click on the About Outlook button on the right hand side of the window. At the top of the pop-up, there will be a long line of blue text stating the version of Outlook that is running, at the end of this line it will either say 32-bit or 64-bit. Go back to our downloads page and download the version that matches.

Outlook must be closed to install the connector. After you download the connector, run the installer and it will take you through the installation steps. This creates a new profile, so you won't see previously set up account. Add them again after installing the connector, and you may attach the PST files for access to your stored email. Please contact our support for assistance accessing stored email.

Next open Outlook and you will be prompted to enter your email address and password. After successfully logging in, your email, calendars, contacts, and to dos will start syncing. Please allow a few hours to see all your data, possibly overnight if you have a large amount of email.

Add an account when the Outlook Connector is already installed

If you already have the Outlook Connector (ZCO) installed, first close Outlook, and open the Control Panel in Windows (right click the Start menu and find Control Panel on the pop up menu). From there, type Mail into the search bar. You should see a result similar to Mail (Microsoft Outlook 20xx) (32-bit). Click on this icon, and select Show Profiles from the pop up window.

Next click Add, and type a name for the new profile. It's not particularly important what this name is, just make sure you use something different from what is already in the list. It will prompt you to add a new email account, select Add another email account, and then select Manually configure email or additional server types and click Next.

Select the Other option, make sure that Zimbra Collaboration Server is selected, then click Next. If this option is not available to you, please see the supplemental article here.

A new window should pop up with 3 text boxes: server, username and password.

The Server text box will say secure.prxy.com:443. Fill in the other two with your full email address and email password respectively.

Click Finish. This will take you back to the profile window. At the bottom of the profile window, it says When starting Microsoft Outlook use this profile:

Make sure this is set to Always use this profile: and select your newly created profile from the drop down menu. Then click OK and open Outlook.
